How to use the cold wallet function in TronLink？

Preparation

  1. Prepare two mobile devices that are secure and haven't been rooted before. Install TronLink on both devices. For security concerns, please download TronLink via official channels such as the TronLink official website, Google Play store, and App Store.
  2. Switch one to the cold wallet mode and keep the other one in the hot wallet mode (the default mode).
  3. Disconnect the device used for cold wallet mode from the Internet or turn on its flight mode, and then click "Switch to Cold Wallet" to set up your cold wallets. (Be sure to disconnect this device from the Internet as it stores your private keys.)

How to interact with my cold wallets?

1. Cold wallet: Select a cold wallet, and click on “Receive” to show the QR code of the cold wallet.

2. Hot wallet mode: Click the "Add Wallet" icon on the top right corner of the homepage, select "Pair Cold Wallet", and then scan the QR code of the cold wallet to add the cold wallet on the Internet-connected device.

3. You can make all types of transactions supported by hot wallets including transfers, TRX staking & unstaking, voting, and multi-signature transaction via the cold wallet on the Internet-connected device. After you initiate a transaction on the Internet-connected device, you will be directed to the QR code page for scanning with the cold wallet mode device.

4. Use the cold wallet on that device to scan the QR code above and sign the transaction in the cold wallet. After that, another QR code is displayed on the cold wallet mode device.

5. Scan the QR code of the cold wallet with the Internet-connected device to complete the transaction.

 

Note：

  1. Your cold wallet stores your private keys, so be sure to use a mobile device that is not connected to the Internet as the cold wallet mode device, and back up the data and store it in a safe place.
  2. Never connect your cold wallet mode device to the Internet once it contains created wallets.
  3. If you want to transfer your asset with the cold wallet on the Internet-connected device, the offline signature on the other device is required to complete the transaction.
  4. You can check your asset balance of the cold wallet on the Internet-connected device.
  5. The cold wallet or hot wallet mode on a device cannot be changed once selected. Please process with caution.
